New TETRA proposal to develop portable product service systems with a human centered design approach.

The ability to connect portable devices to the internet  present new possibilities to develop innovative products, combined with e-service that provide meaningful user experiences.

SBO Smart Materials
Investigation of the potential of Carbon Nanutubes (CNTs) for the creation of smart materials with unique sensing properties. CNTs are known for their mechanical strength and very good electrical and thermal conductance. Electrodes can be integrated in the materials such that these electrical properties can be measured. Electronic circuitry can nowadays be made flexible and will continue to function while being deformed. Advanced signal processing algorithms and machine learning techniques can recognize and quantify the deformation of the material. Finally, these materials can be integrated in specific applications and translated to practical solutions.
